Welcome to Oxford University Materials Society
MatSoc is a student-run society at the University of Oxford, set up to support its members in the study of materials science through industrial visits, careers based speaker and networking events, and inter-year group collaboration and socials.
As a society, we have two main aims, to promote inter-year group socialising and interaction within the department, and providing a range of careers and networking focused events to help our members learn more about Materials Science in the real world and develop their horizons for the future.

What we offer
Our mission is to support our members in their study of materials science by providing a platform for them to engage and form connections with other members of the department, past and present, as well as key industry figures. We aim to provide a range of both careers and social events which enable our members to broaden their horizons and plan for their futures and their long term professional goals. At MatSoc, we believe that everyone can learn from everyone as we grow and support each other in our studies of Materials Science.
